Armoury and jewels

Today we visited the Imperial Treasury and the Armoury Museum. They were both on the list of places Ella and Angus wanted to visit.

The Armoury Museum had some amazing suits of armour, swords and other battlewares that were quite decorative. The armour looked very heavy and would have been difficult for the men and horses to move in. There were even some suits for little kids, which Angus liked.

In the treasury we saw all sorts of Crown jewels and a 3000 carat emerald, which was awesome. The gold in the crowns, necklaces and other pieces was quite spectacular. There was even some robes made with gold and silver thread with precious stones.

After spending the morning in the museums, we came across a wine festival, that we couldn't go into, but which had some food trucks. The bretzels and wurst were delicious!

We did a little bit more wandering around the city and then went back to the hotel for a well deserved spa and swim. The perfect way to refresh after a 30 degree day.

Dinner was some yummy Turkish food at a local restaurant.

Tomorrow we catch the train to Budapest to continue our adventures in Hungary.
